Brookville's CoGeneration™ gliding underneath the Knoxdale Road.
BMEX 259 Brookville’s first CoGeneration™ Locomotive cruised the 20 mile corridor to Genesee and Wyoming Railroad’s DuBois yard singing a beautiful chorus as the three Cummins engine platform departed Brookville’s facility on its way South.
The locomotive will spend two days working for the G&W Railroad prior to joining the ranks of the Norfolk Southern fleet in Roanoke, Virginia next week. NS is the first of three Class 1 railroads that have indicated they would like the opportunity to test CoGeneration’s™ capabilities for themselves.
Brookville has worked nearly 3 years on the concept, design, engineering, and manufacturing for this CoGeneration™ platform. Demonstrations will allow the railroads to see for themselves that the combination of a low-emission, fuel efficient multi-engine configuration and regenerative brakes will provide the best cost effectiveness.
Passing through Reynoldsville, PA.
Stay tuned to Brookville's website and the local rails near you to see the CoGeneration™ Locomotive for yourself, or call (814) 849-2000 to get more information on how your railroad can take advantage of this Brookville locomotive design. _________________ Michael White
